Picklenash Tag Rugby County Winners 2010

Year 6 Pupils won the Tag Rugby County Championship organised by the Newent Community Police in conjunction with the Gloucestershire Constabulary Child Victims of Crime group. This saw the Children attend a Regional Competition at Taunton. The Team did very well and enjoyed the experience.

NEWENT COMMUNITY SCHOOL

Newent Community School hosted an Kenyan Fayre. There were stalls selling fair trade produce. Pupils sold Cakes, Ice Creams, drinks and crafts from Kenya. Pupils had recycled old beams from the school gym making tea light holders and clocks, buyers were encouraged to barter the prices. There was a display by the International Birds of Prey Centre and a tree planting ceremony. FORESTER BUSINESS AWARDS

Newent and District Business Club Members congratulate Gareth Roberts of GDR Solutions on Winning the Young Businessman of the Year Award and Lyn Ashton of Memento Gifts on her Highly Commended Award in the Retailer of The Year Award. Congratulations also to The Plant Man for winning the Customer Service Award and Retailer of the Year Award. The Awards were presented at the Forest Hills Golf Club, Mile End, Coleford.
