ZERO WASTE CHALLENGE WEEK ... 26 January 2009Zero Waste Challenge Week Monday 26th January until Sunday 1st February 2009 Are you ready for the challenge? You can now sign up to take part in Zero Waste Challenge Week. The Zero Waste Challenge Week is intended to be a fun way for individuals, families, schools and communities to become more ‘waste aware’ and to work together to try and lower the 190,000 tonnes of waste Gloucestershire landfills each year. Residents are being asked to sign up to the challenge, and we have produced a Challenge Pack, which includes hints and tips to help everyone get as close to zero waste as practicable by reducing, reusing, recycling and composting as much as possible to keep it from landfill. There is also a simple monitoring form for people to use and give us feedback of their experiences throughout the week. You can sign up by visiting the Recycle for Gloucestershire website, www.recycleforgloucestershire.com and following the link to the zero waste pages We are seeking your support for the Zero Waste Challenge Week and hope that you will sign up to participate in the week, acting as champions not only for the challenge but also for the waste reduction message in your areas.
